This gauge is very useful especially on older vehicle where the charging capacity of the alternator or dynamo is not capable of keeping up with the demands of modern equipment such as amplifiers, fans, heaters, dvd's, monitors etc. Another use is to measure the current being drawn from the second leisure battery by all the additional equipment installed in the camper.
